Good message to share with you all....
There was a one-hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity.
Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:
1) He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
2) He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
3) He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
4) He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
5) His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.
6) He has given his CEOs only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any of your shareholder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
7) He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time, after he gets home, is to make himself some pop corn and watch television.
8) Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only 5years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half an hour. But when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gatesbecame a devotee of Warren Buffet.
9) Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.
10) His advice to young people: Stay away from credit cards and invest in yourself.
Remember money doesn't create man but it is the man who creates money.
Live your life as simple as you are.
Don't do what others say, just listen to them , but do what you feel good.
Don't go on brand names, just wear those things in which you feel comfortable in.
Don't waste your money on unnecessary things; just spend on what you really need.
Went to Bedok Reservoir for part time again during the weekends...
This time round, was Wakeboard World cup 2007, part of WaterFest oso... Supported by RipCurl... Got alot of internationally competitors...
This time, i went with Chin Pern, Kiat, Rachel (Lan Eng's daughter)... Reported to work at 9am... Supposed to meet them at Sengkang at 815am, but i was late.. Meet them at IMH busstop at 830am..
Weather was very hot on Sat... Again, i was at the free Banana boat rides booth...Signing ppl up for the rides... With the same group of lifeguards as last time... Don, ToonFung and the guys. There was another lifeguard who was 29yr old pervert whom they called him 'Techno Tikopek', who asked for my number! OMG! So disgusting...
Ppl came as early as 10am, as soon as we r open... As usual, there were ppl who went for the free rides a few times... But then again, i oso went for it alot of times...haha.... There were not many ppl who came on Sat... Only morning abit busy with ppls comin in one by one, so still quite ok for us to handle...but then for the whole afternoon, no one came lor... Was very quiet... Only ppl staying opp came lor... When it was almost time for us to knock off at ard 430pm, then ppl started to come in and getting crowded..
But we managed to clear the ppl by 530pm... Rachel and i went for the ride twice... Once did not capsized, cos got a small boy and auntie... Then Rachel say it was fun, she wan try with capsize.. So we went again lor... Capsized twice...
She din bring clothes... So Nick & i sent her back to her grandma hse after tat lor...
The next day, meet up with LCP & Rachel at SengKang MRT... Went for breakfast then report for work at 9am... Dark clouds were gathering when we reached... Ah Huat was telling us, they put garlic and chilli to stop rain from comin.. Something like a 'chant'...
The person-in-charge of our pay, "B" (dunnoe wat B) and the other gal, they were driving the buggy, then LCP ask her to tong bang us to our booth cos the box of barang is heavy... So we took the buggy, on the way they were reali placing sticks of garlic and chilli at almost all the booths... i asked her if it works anot, then she answered so yaya-papaya "didnt it worked yesterday?"
So when we reached at booth, we sat there, cos no one yet... Looks like wan to rain liao. So we jus sat there chit-chat with the lifeguards.., Then all of sudden, the wind became very strong and blew the tents away like as if there was a tornado... Luckily our reflexs were fast, held on to the tents and we jus stand there hold on to the tents...haha...so funny... Don was standing at the other tents alone, in the end, the tents were blew off, cos he could only hold onto one side....
Then heavy rain for abt 1 hr plus... Poor Chin Pern and Kiat came and help to pull up the tents, were drenched, in the end, they could only came to take shelter cos the rain was simply too heavy... After the rain became smaller, they went to pull up the tents with another 2 other guys...
The rest of the lifeguards were there playing cards since it was drizzling and cant start any activities in the water yet... Then after that, our IC, Seth told us to get ready. And there were ppl who came in umbrellas who came and register for the ride... Rachel still told them they might get wet for the ride... Lol..
It was getting realli hot in the afternoon... Hot until we could use mineral water to fill in the water guns to put water on ourselves...
As usual, its getting crowded when its almost time to knock off... Again, Rachel and me waited for our turn to take the banana boat again... This time we took boat ride with Toon Fung... Saw ppl capsized.. So fun... haha... A group of angmos with children, capsized 3times... haha... Later we went on for another round, this time with some of the staff... Saw them capsized twice... Luckily one of their fren only watch but din take the ride, cos she dun wan get wet...
After their turns, they wanted to go for another round, so me and rachel joined them.. Guess what?? We capszied 5 times!!! In the end, we haf to swim back to the shore ourselves cos its quite near...
After that, we quickly went to change and go 'fall-in' to get our pay... Waited for the 'B' to give us our pay, but she was somewer watchin the Wakeboard finals... Wasting our time!!
In the end, me and Rachel din wait to get our pay. Her uncle, Randy, said he will pass it to Chin Pern lor... So we din wait till the whole thing ends... Cos Nick was oredi waiting for me liao and Rachel is meeting the lifeguards for dinner and they were oredi waiting for her liao...
Was fun... Hope to go for events again!!!
有时人少,可坐在位置上欣赏窗外的风景;

Ants Never Quit- If they're heading somewhere and u try to stop them, they will look for another way.

Ants Think Winter All Summer- You cant be so naive as to think summer will last forever.
- So ants are gathering their winter food in the middle of summer.

Lesson: It is important to be realistic. Think ahead.3rd part of the Philosophy -
Ants Think Summer All Winter- During the winter, ants remind themselves, "This won't last long, we'll soon be out of here".
- At the first warm day, the ants are out.
- If it turns cold again, they'll dive back down, but then they'll come out the first warm day.
Lesson: Stay positive at all times.4th part of the Philosophy -
